Our Guiding Principles:

  1. Our highest priority is to satisfy the needs of students and their families through early and continuous delivery of meaningful learning.
  2. We welcome changing requirements, even late in a learning cycle, and we harness change for the benefit of students and our families.
  3. We deliver meaningful learning frequently with measurable performance indicators with a preference to the shorter timeframes in measurement.
  4. Spark and family members work together daily/weekly to create learning opportunities for students.
  5. We build projects around motivated individuals, give them the environment and support they need, and we trust our students to get their jobs done.
  6. We recognize that the most efficient and effective method of conveying information to and within a team is face-to-face conversation.
  7. Meaningful learning is our primary measure of progress.
  8. Our processes promote sustainability. Educators, students, and families should be able to maintain a constant pace indefinitely.
  9. We believe that continuous attention to technical excellence and good design enhances adaptability.
  10. We believe in simplicity–the art of maximizing the amount of work done–is essential.
  11. We believe the best ideas and initiatives emerge from self-organizing, self-directed teams.
  12. We review our students progress at regular intervals and help them to reflect on how to become more effective, then tune and adjust behaviors accordingly.
